My New Crush~Two-Flowered Cynthia

You're probably asking yourself, "What ever does she see in that flower?"

Come on admit it, you are!

Ray flowers, no disk flowers do remind me of dandelions
It's been beaten down by rain and blown about in the wind and I still find it delightful and charming. I wish I had been able to capture the nice contrast between the orange tinted golden flowers and the bluish-gray foliage~It pops in the garden.
The orange tinted flowers pop in the garden

You'll have to take my word for this~Two-flowered Cynthia is a keeper!

It's a delightful native flower that blooms for a long time, is tolerant of all, but, the most water logged soils and is visited by many pollinators~bumblebees, honeybees, Little carpenter bees, Cuckoo bees, Mason bees, beetles, flower flies, predatory wasps, skippers and butterflies.

It even has its very own specialist bee~the Andrena krigiana.

Wishing now that I had gotten more than one plant. I am certainly going to let this aster go to seed! Lot's more will be lots better!

Middle Tennesseans, you can find Krigia biflora at GroWild Nursery, that's where it called my name and jumped into my arms!

    1. Mine is about 18" tall~it's very delicate and would look scrumptious with dray leaved plants and deep purple.

  2. I love it! But then what do I know? I'm one of those 'unfashionable' gardeners who sees beauty in dandelions, too, especially when there's little else for the pollinators. This plant is new to me, and I like the graceful stems and buds. Like Freda, I'd like to know how tall it is.

  12. It is a pretty flower, and not one that grows around here I think. May get the cold shoulder in some quarters because of its passing resemblance to a dandelion.

  13. Gorgeous, sunny colour! It's not a flower I'm familiar with - thank you for "introducing" us! :)

  14. Looks like a cross between a dandelion and a coreopsis. I bet the bees go nuts over it. Have a great weekend, Gail.

I by no means found any fascinating article like yours.

It's lovely worth enough for me. In my view, if all webmasters and bloggers made good content as you probably did, the net will
be a lot more helpful than ever before.
