Was The Sky Clear Over Your Garden

last night?

When the moon rose the clouds raced to cover them.
For awhile the moon won.

What did you see above your garden  last night?

  1. On Sunday the moon was way cool? It looked just like this one-haze around it. I even had to roll down my window to see if the haze was inside or out:) It was out. Lovely picture. I think it was full last night but I was in bed early.

It was magnificient last night .. I ran out in my "nightwear" (avoiding description) .. completely forgot my tripod was still stacked some where in the utility room .. tried to set the shot for NIGHT and held my breath because my camera TOLD ME TO .. I would NOT have been surprised if it had said "CROSS YOUR FINGERS TOO !!" .. Later today I will download and see what happened .. but it was one gorgeous MOON !!!!

  4. Dear Gail,
AHHHH... the last few nights the sky has been crystal clear and the moon lights up my entire garden. We can sit by the pool in the dark and see details. It does make me want to capture it on film but alas, I'm not great with my night camera so no photos here. Someday I'm going to figure that out.
(I think you just visited me and left me a comment - love it when that happens. :-)

  5. Joy,

I did the same thing...only it was way warmer here! I tried different settings but forgot the tripod...next time! It was gorgeous with the clouds racing to cover the beautiful moon...I can't wait to see what your photos show! I know they will be delightful.

  6. Dear Meems,

I did just visit you! Isn't life wonderfully beautiful and mysterious! Nights like the last few, with a sweet warmness to the air and that hint of spring are beyond description...it's all feelings. I know you and Mr Meems had a wonderful time in the moonlight. Now a Van Morrison song is playing in my head!

  7. I could only "feel" the moon last night Gail. It was windy, cloudy and cool. A few rain showers set in.

  8. Lisa,

Does cool mean not freezing! I hope you've had some of the warmer temps that we've had...everyone needs a bit of warm in the middle of winter...gail

  9. The moon was breathtaking here last night, Gail -- a mostly clear sky with clouds that swiftly covered and uncovered. I'll post a photo on my blog today. :)

  23. A full moon. :) Our living room has four windows across it, giving us a full view of the front yard, and it almost looked as though it had snowed again last night.

Isn't this weather we're having glorious?

  24. Sweetbay, It is! i I have loved every minute of it...let's hope we cruise gently into spring. The view into your garden sounds wonderful...that is what 'picture windows' are supposed to do;-) Have a good day in the garden.....

  25. My night was like Lisa's. It does make us so much more aware of and thankful for the pleasant weather after dealing with the dreary winter. I'm ready for some of that delicious spring weather myself.

  26. When I got up at 4:30 this morning the moonlight was streaming thru my windows. Beautiful. Great photo, Gail.

  27. It was a beautiful moon last night and it did light the way up the still frozen and icy driveway. The full snow moon of February has a distant promise to it.

  28. The moon was absolutely glowing over my garden last night. I was looking up at her around midnight (out with my dog one last time) and admiring that lovely light. I have always wanted to garden by moonlight and with a full moon that is entirely possible. Maybe this summer??

  29. Yes it has been clear and beautiful!

  31. Gail, lovely photo! we couldn't see the moon last night because of rain. But the 2 nights before it was gorgeous. Thankfully we are having a respite from the winter for a few days. It's amazing what a little sun and warm breezes can do for the psyche. :}

  32. Our yard was lit up as if we had a big spotlight shining down upon us! The cats were running from window to window trying to spot other critters in the yard. I saw 6 deer...

  33. Hi Gail....we had torrential rain last night so I did not see much....the wind was strong.....so I heard a lot.....

  34. The last two nights the moon has been so bright that it streamed in the windows and I had to venture outside! Last night, the stars were also bright with nary a cloud in the sky. :-)

  35. Yes Gail

I saw the beautiful moon and despite that I had a good night sleep...very unusual for me.

  41. The kids are sick so I was up from midnight on...we went to the window at least 20 times so baby boy could see the moon. He would yell 'MOON, MOON!' then lay his head in my shoulder and rub his snotty nose all over me! Ohh the joys of motherhood. I'm glad you got your camera out, I was too blurry eyed to find mine...beautiful shot! Kim

  48. It sure was bright here. I thought someone had a light on.
Don't care too much for a full moon as it plays with ones emotions. It seems to change their personality. And the fact I haven't slept good for the last 15 yrs. due to results from a full moon. I must admit it is pretty though.

  49. Lovely picture but I missed the whole thing. If you don't see it, does it mean it wasn't there?

  50. Tons of rain clouds. The moon came out right before sunrise up here. The kids were happy to get a two hour rain delay today.

  51. Last night I saw the full moon with clouds racing very fast across it. Thought it very odd. Then we had storms.

  52. Nice photo! I love your attitude and approach to your garden. What joyful delight you take in the world around you. I saw the same moon of course, but did not rise (so to speak) to the occasion. Moonshadows were in evidence however, and I did take note of that special delight.

  53. I saw the moon in its second stage of waxing, but without those tree branches. I feel seeing the moon through the foliage and branches makes it look more heavenly

  54. Hi Gail,
There was no moon here. It was cloudy and rainy)-: Today it will be clear and then tonight it is suppose to snow! I will believe it when I see it!(-: We need the rain so I am happy!!!!

  55. Hi Gail, we had torrential rain Tuesday night and all day yesterday too, and the moon lost! Today is bright and sunny though, so we may see the moon tonight.
