Have A Wonderful January 2010 GBBD

When winter's frigid chill descends upon a garden and all hope of January bloom has been dashed away~

Then you must repair to the florist for blooms sufficient to keep you smiling.
I do hope you are smiling and have a wonderful time today. It's January 15 and that means Bloom Day. An event that knows no geographical boundaries and is celebrated hither and yon in this great big wonderful world we inhabit. Please visit Carol, May Dreams Gardens for a link to all gardenbloggers who are celebrating the day!

I can't completely participate~~no commenting~~but, will be enjoying them all with you. Carol this post is for you.... I haven't missed a GBBD since I began blogging almost two years ago!

  5. Good job, Gail! Nothing like cut flowers in winter to cheer things up. (Fortunately, we have orchids and Christmas cacti still in bloom, so we're holding off on the "boughten" bouquets until February. But we sure do love 'em!) Sending you an absolutely fabulous mental bouquet and wishing you the speediest possible recovery. I am SO glad things are going well!!!

  14. Hello Gail,

Now, that is a great idea! If those who are tired of gray winter days would just go to their local florist they can bring home a bouquet of bright, beautiful flowers + help their local economy ;-)

  20. The florist can always be counted upon ... I need to make a trip there as well... who would have EVER thought it would be so!

Maybe I'll stop at one on my way back from the beach this afternoon... need to get away from the dullness to breathe in the salty air. Do take care of your health, dear Gail. Looking forward to your recovery and all the gardens' recovering across this great land.
    Happy GBBD.

  27. Excellent solution for winter blooms Gail!

My oldest daughter treats herself to a grocery store bouquet every week. It makes her happy, and she says it's worth every penny.

  50. Gail, it matters not where the blooms come from...they bring a smile regardless :)
Those vibrant colors are just what we need during this colder than usual winter we're having.
The current warming trend is very welcome here in NY, and the snowfall for the first half of our day was beautiful. Hope you're having warmer weather at C&L today too.
I trust you're finding interesting and enjoyable activities to occupy your time as your hand heals. And I hope the healing is going very well.
You are in my thoughts and prayers dear friend.
