After The Wind and Rain

Redbud blooms carpet the garden (click photo to enlarge)

I have been in and out of my friend's garden weekly for years and had never seen this fantastic a carpet of magenta before. It made me smile. A gift from nature after days of gray sky, heavy rains, strong winds and dropping temperatures.

Mother Nature you are amazing.

Thank you for stopping by for visit~~this is a Wordless Wednesday post and as close to wordless as I can possibly get! The sun is shining and the forecast is for a beautiful spring day.

Practically Perfect Pink Phlox is almost ready to bloom....it's April and I am not fooling you! I hope you have a delightful day that is filled with gardening and contentment.

Gail

  1. Beautiful! I have two tiny redbuds with just a few tips of pink, but healthy! They are so beautiful here in So Indiana. Thanks for showing, I haven't seen them that way either. Hugs....Brooke

  2. I was thinking the carpet of redbud blooms looks like creeping phlox.

  3. I thought it was creeping Thyme or something like that, didn't even think about redbuds on the ground. Oh the rain... Hopefully we will have fewer areas in drought this year.

  4. Wow those redbud petals on the ground look fantastic! Like a painting!

  5. I love it when the redbuds, wisteria and dogwood trees do this!!

  6. I just love the look of fallen petals on the ground. It's almost like a second show. Thanks for sharing that. I have a feeling its going to be quite a few years before I am able to see the same in my own garden. Happy April!

  7. Sigh. You and Frances and those Tennessee redbuds are making me jealous (and homesick)! Ours won't be in bloom for another week or two (or three).

  9. How pretty. My redbud suffers so much winter damage each year it has never bloomed. Maybe this spring.

  12. Great picture Gail. Those blooms are as lovely on the ground as they are on the tree.

Our little Redbud has come into full bloom the last couple of days and the bees are going nuts over it!

  13. Beautiful photo, though it took a second for my brain to process that the flowers had fallen onto the ground. We have redbuds here and I'm looking forward to their bloom. I'm going to a friend's later to photograph her lilac buds. I know you'll understand! :)

  15. Gail,

It's looking great, isn't it? Those redbuds are so glorious. I don't know why my woods don't have any native ones. At a previous home, my woods were filled with redbuds and dogwoods. I think there's one native dogwood on our property. I have to drive around to get my redbud and dogwood fix! :-)

  16. It is a pretty carpet but sometimes this happens too quickly for me. Just when the blooms are looking spectacular, in comes a rain or wind storm and poof they're off the tree! It's good to be able to appreciate the color no matter the location (tree or ground).

  24. When I lived in Santa Barbara, after a good wind in February the Jackaranda's would carpet the street with purple blooms as well...I always thought it was a magical moment:)

  27. That is the only form of carpet I like. Obviously, I'm saying I got rid of my indoor carpet due to the pets! I just love a carpet of flowers though.
