It's All In Your Perspective

I hope you enlarge this photo

Our Providence, RI hotel room overlooked India Point Park at the confluence of the the Blackstone and Providence Rivers. Walking distance from our son's apartment. The park is an interesting amalgam of wind twisted trees, invasives and natives, old moorings and calm waters, where scullers row and swans float.

Do you see the wire sculpture on the old moorings?

In the distance you can see the towers of the hydro-electric plant. But, at that perfect moment, my eyes only saw
the fantastic sunset reflected upon the waters.

  1. LOL, some impressionist painters left out the industrial buildings in the landscape, but I think one can focus where one wants to look--in life, in general. I was in providence years ago and was pleasantly surprised at what a nice city it is!

  3. Just beautiful, Gail! I loved the cloud reflection in the first photo. How nice for your son to have this within walking distance too. I laughed at the wire sculpture! :-)

  4. This is a great collection of images. I particularly like the first images with the clouds on the water, and the last one which is so golden. In my photos, I am consistently more interested in what is reflected in the water than what has caused the reflections.

  5. Lovely shots. One does tend to see what one likes. It is good to edit out the abrasive components of the world.

  6. Gail, you were right about enlarging the first photo. Doing so delivered the wow factor. I like the picture of the sumac with the river in the background.

Your son lives in a lovely area.

  7. Beautiful reflections in water and words Gail! I always love to see the golden path the sun paints in watery ways at sunrise and sunset. You capture it so perfectly. Love the sculpture on the old moors. I have always wanted to get to Providence to see the fires they have on the waters... did you happen to see them? Carol
