"There's rosemary; that's for remembrance.

My friends, I want you to know how deeply touched I have been by your support and care during my mother's emergency hospitalization and when she passed away.

When I first began to blog, I wanted to talk about gardening with other gardeners; gardeners who felt as passionately as I did about plants and gardens. What I found was a community of equally passionate gardening men and women who warmly welcomed me and just as warmly supported me. You have been incredible. You are incredible, wonderful, generous.....really I can't use enough adjectives to describe your kindness and the depth of my gratitude.

I treasure all of your kind words and have visited them again and again. Yes, they make me cry, but we need tears to grieve and heal.

My dear gardening friends, thank you for bringing so much more than gardening talk to my life.

Gail

  4. Gail, A very heart warming statement. Brings back memories. But like you said we need the tears as well as the laughter. May God be with you & ease your pain. Know that all will continue to have you in their hearts & on their minds. To garden is to fill the thoughts.

  5. Tears are much needed for healing. It's kind of weird that since I tend to cry so much I was barely able to cry at either my dad's or FIL's funerals.

I'm glad you're finding much needed support here. It is hard to go through this kind of thing on your own.

  8. Gail you are most welcomed!! I have found all the garden bloggers to be very sweet and caring people and wish the whole world was like you sweet people. Tears are a good way to help get rid of the pain and as the years go by there will, for the most part, even be a smile with the tears. I hope that day comes soon for you.

  11. What a lovely post! Many more garden bloggers are probably out there wishing you well but feel too shy to leave a comment, Gail.

It's one thing to know intellectually that time will heal and that there will be unexpected [and usually inconvenient!] relapses into grief. It's another thing to learn these truths personally and emotionally. I hope the friendly virtual world of gardeners can help.

  12. Annie, You are very wise and I am very appreciative of your friendship, thank you for reaching out! I knew when I posted that it might be a sensitive one, but letting all of you know that even though I wasn't up to individual responses I was deeply touched and grateful. Thank you....

  15. Gail, I didn't want any confusion but Anonymous is myself, Lola. Accidentally hit wrong button. Just re read comments & realized the mistake.

  16. You are so welcome and coming here to your blog surely brightens a part of my day. So the giving is returned. It's a cycle that gardeners can always share.
